Welcome to Private Testing Center

Oklahoma is ranked 5th out of 50 states for gonorrheal infections.

STDs across the board are on the rise in Tulsa and Oklahoma, according to new data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

“Personally and professionally, I think it should cause alarm,” Kristen Eberly, STD prevention program manager with the Oklahoma Department of Health, said. “We need more education to tell people about the risk and how to protect themselves.”

“It’s fair to say this is sexual Russian roulette,” said RN Jan Fox with the Oklahoma State Health Department. “When you have sex unprotected, you are putting yourself at risk to acquire syphilis and other STDs, as well.” There were 151 documented cases of syphilis in 2014. Oklahoma, Tulsa and Cleveland Counties have the most.

And in 2017, state health officials confirmed that Oklahoma County is in the midst of a syphilis outbreak, with about 80 residents infected over the past few months.

“I’ll be quite honest with you,” said Kristen Eberly, who manages HIV and STD services at the state Health Department. “I’ve worked in STD services for about 13 years now, and we’ve never been able to connect this many cases to any infection and to an outbreak. It’s the largest that I’ve seen.”

The most common risk factors associated with the outbreak include drug use, exchanging sex for money or drugs, or having multiple sex partners. The majority of those identified were drug users, many of whom were using heroin or meth.

Private Testing Center strives to combat the ongoing STD/HIV epidemic in the United States by providing safe, easy, and confidential STD testing at over 2,000 locations around the country. And with same-day appointments and most lab visits wrapping up within 15 minutes, there’s no reason not to schedule a test.

Don’t leave this aspect of your health to chance. Undiagnosed and untreated, STDs can cause irrepairable harm to your body, and you may unwillingly propagate the disease by infecting other sexual partners. Schedule a test with us today.

Private Testing Center strives to offer affordable, discreet and convenient testing in an effort to prevent the spread of STDs and HIV.

The CDC estimates there are 20 million new cases of STDs in the U.S. each year, with 50% of those new cases falling on young people ages 15 to 24.

In one study, they examined 1,000 adolescents and found that 1 in 4 of them had at least 1 common STD, and 15% were infected with more then one. Most participants in the study showed no symptoms and didn’t even realize they were infected. Even among people who only had one partner in their lifetimes, 1 in 5 still had an STD — but of those with three or more partners, 50% had an STD.

The good news is that many STDs are curable, and those without a cure are treatable. You owe it to yourself and others to find answers and protect yourself. Private Testing Center has 1500 locations nationwide in one of the largest laboratory networks anywhere in the world. Same day appointments are available with scheduling as soon as 15 minutes after calling. The average lab visit lasts just 15 minutes and some results are available the following day.
