“Look, if [one in four teenage girls has an STD], if it’s that big an issue, we need to do something about it,” said Vivie Duclos, who sits on a youth advisory board of the state Department of Public Health and the Environment. “Girls, especially, need a confidential, safe, inexpensive way of getting contraceptives.”
Treatment is just one step in the fight against AIDS worldwide. In 2014, the Paris Declaration agreement was launched as part of a global effort to reduce new HIV infections and prevent deaths related to AIDS through testing, treatment and education. It’s also known as the 90-90-90 initiative, and Denver joined the agreement in 2015.ince joining the initiative , Denver has become one of the first cities in North America to reach the United Nations target of having 90% of people living with HIV know their HIV status.
