Welcome to Private Testing Center
Louisville has the 26th Highest overall STD Infection rate in the U.S.
According to a report published by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the three most commonly reported sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the US were at record-high levels in 2015. There were roughly 1.5 million cases of chlamydia— ”the highest number of annual cases of any condition ever reported to CDC,” according to the report. There were also 400,000 cases of gonorrhea and 24,000 cases of syphilis.
While Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and Syphilis are all easily cured with the right medicine, you have to be diagnosed with them first. In Louisville and throughout Kentucky, there is a problem getting the word out about STDs.
Untreated STDs are a common cause of pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility and chronic pelvic pain. In addition, they can increase the spread of HIV, and cause cancer. Pregnant women and newborns are particularly vulnerable to STDs.
In addition, Kentucky is at particular risk of an outbreak of HIV because of the heroin epidemic currently ravaging downtown Louisville and the Appalachian region of Kentucky. HIV can only spread if infected blood, semen, vaginal fluids or breastmilk gets inside your body. But many heroin users share needles, granting the virus and easy pathway to take hold. To help prevent the spread, community efforts like needle exchanges and education among drug users is absolutely critical.
Private Testing Center joins the fight against STDs and HIV by offering affordable, discreet and convenient screenings. In over 2,000 labs across the country, we accurately identify all the most common STDs, as well as HIV. You owe it to yourself and your loved ones to get tested regularly for STDs. Health experts recommend if you have one sexual partner that you should be tested once a year, and if you have more then one you should be tested every three to six months. These aren’t recommendations they make lightly — an untreated STD can quickly take hold inside your body and cause permanent damage. Don’t let that happen to you. Schedule a test today.

The CDC estimates there are 20 million new cases of STDs in the U.S. each year, with 50% of those new cases falling on young people ages 15 to 24.
In one study, they examined 1,000 adolescents and found that 1 in 4 of them had at least 1 common STD, and 15% were infected with more then one. Most participants in the study showed no symptoms and didn’t even realize they were infected. Even among people who only had one partner in their lifetimes, 1 in 5 still had an STD — but of those with three or more partners, 50% had an STD.
The good news is that many STDs are curable, and those without a cure are treatable. You owe it to yourself and others to find answers and protect yourself. Private Testing Center has 1500 locations nationwide in one of the largest laboratory networks anywhere in the world. Same day appointments are available with scheduling as soon as 15 minutes after calling. The average lab visit lasts just 15 minutes and some results are available the following day.
