Welcome to Private Testing Center

Texas is ranked 11th out of 50 states with the highest rates of reported STDs

The rates of sexually transmitted diseases in Bexar County have never been higher, according to the most recent data available from the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Experts agree that this is the result of poor access to STD Testing facilities and inadequate federal funding — two factors that are prevalent across most of the nation. But also affecting Bexar County and the state of Texas in particular is a lack of accurate sex education.

One study found that 83% of all Texas public schools teach abstinence-only sex education, or don’t teach sex ed in their schools at all. It’s an indisputable fact that waiting to have sexual contact until marriage, and only having it with one partner, is the most effective way to prevent the spread of HIV and STDs. However, for many high school students, this is not a choice they make. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), revealed that in 2015, 35.7% of 10th graders reported having sexual intercourse. For these students who choose not to abstain, lack of sexual education can put them at a much greater risk for becoming infected with STDs and HIV. And because many STDs carry no symptoms, it may not even occur to these young people and adolescents that they are infected, meanwhile they inavertently contribute to the epidemic by infecting their sexual partners.

Besides abstinence, the two best ways to prevent the spread of STDs are proper use of a condom and getting tested regularly. Private Testing Center aims to make testing for STDs affordable, easy and discreet. Private Testing Center strives to offer affordable, discreet and convenient testing in an effort to prevent the spread of STDs and HIV.

The CDC estimates there are 20 million new cases of STDs in the U.S. each year, with 50% of those new cases falling on young people ages 15 to 24.

In one study, they examined 1,000 adolescents and found that 1 in 4 of them had at least 1 common STD, and 15% were infected with more then one. Most participants in the study showed no symptoms and didn’t even realize they were infected. Even among people who only had one partner in their lifetimes, 1 in 5 still had an STD — but of those with three or more partners, 50% had an STD.

The good news is that many STDs are curable, and those without a cure are treatable. You owe it to yourself and others to find answers and protect yourself. Private Testing Center has 1500 locations nationwide in one of the largest laboratory networks anywhere in the world. Same day appointments are available with scheduling as soon as 15 minutes after calling. The average lab visit lasts just 15 minutes and some results are available the following day.

Don’t wait! Get tested regularly.
